Due to increase in volume of project transactions and reporting requirements from funders, additional positions are required.
The numerous audits put strain on the current staff and require additional resources to assist with the increased work load.
Having another level/cadre of staff doing the bookkeeping to trial balance and reporting to the Accountant post would free the Accountant post to analyse allocation of expenses before capturing, and create capacity for the Accountant post to add more value in terms of producing and analysing funder reports that could be submitted to the Budget & Reporting Analyst in the Compliance Office, for review before submission to funders.
This would also create some sort of succession plan for the Accountant post in the organisation as they should be adding more value to the organisation than just capturing transactions.
