RESPONSIBILITIES
To prevent and minimize accidents, dangerous occurrences and non-conformances in respect of safety, health, environmental, risk and quality standards and
To assist line management with the updating and maintaining of SHERQ systems and procedures to ensure legal compliance etc., which includes but not limited to:
Inspections
Investigations
Risk assessment and control
Planning, organising and administration
Analysis and reporting
Customer service and support
Legal compliance and audits
SHERQ adherence and compliance in own area of work
Work Ethics
REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 (Essential)
Competent A Certificate Surface Mining (Essential)
National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Safety Management / Risk Management or equivalent (Essential)
Blasting Certificate / Rock Breaking MQA equivalent qualification (Recommended)
Artisan Trade Test (Red Seal) (Recommended)
Minimum of seven (7) years operational Safety / SHERQ Officer experience in a Mining / Engineering environment (Essential)
Minimum of two (2) years operational Risk assessment experience in a Mining / Engineering environment (Essential)
(Total of 7 years’ experience of which some of the experience can run concurrent)
A valid code B/EB driver’s licence
