Cloud services for SAP is responsible for technical configuration, design, administration, development, implementation and support of application and information frameworks that
Dimension Data cloud services for SAP provides to our customers.
Demonstrates and applies technical (not functional) knowledge of software development frameworks and business process configuration systems. Examples include (not limited to)
java application servers, integration and information systems, ERP systems, business rules engines, business process management and .et development frameworks.
Leverages in technical languages, operating systems, application programming interfaces,> and troubleshooting.
Demonstrates knowledge of software development life cycle, modelling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high
level business requirements and provide options analysis.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of infrastructure subcomponents and interoperability including (but not limited to) SAN, network (application routing) and compute platforms.
Demonstrates knowledge of system information dependencies and end to end application transaction competency.
Maintains platform or system health and availability requirements including HADR testing.
Resolves support issues involving production systems.
Partners with Enterprise Architecture teams for product selection and product capability roadmaps and information governance processes.
Monitors and manages proactive maintenance to application platform environments documents and manages SOPs for software and information platform systems.
Interfaces with business solution teams and partners on operational platform events as well as solution design needs.
Accountabilities
The position of Basis Administrator (Technical Specialist) is part of SAP Cloud Services Operations team whose objective and responsibility will be to migrate and support SAP systems, and maintain the systems at optimal performance, availability and efficiency. The person will be responsible for the planning, installation, configuration, migration and maintenance, Build to Run transition, Production monitoring of SAP instances and associated software tools, building best practices around SAP Migrations and performance optimization and achieve continuous improvement through tuning.
The individual will also provide assistance and consultation to other infrastructure staff and work within cross-functional teams. He/She is expected to have a strong Basis background in HANA,Oracle, SQL, DB2 ABAP and Java along with working experience of managing & migrating
SAP workloads on Azure Cloud Platform
Work as SAP Technology SME in SAP Basis/Hana
Capacity planning of SAP systems.
Planning, installation, and maintenance of SAP software
Implementation of SAP at an enterprise level and performing migrations
Proficiency in SAP Basis, traditional DB’s and Hana Administration
Provide expertise related to SAP and DB performance, HA/DR, and scalability
Monitoring with both ad-hoc tools and automated scripts or procedures
Support/recommend reporting, query and analysis tools ensuring efficient SAP/database utilization
Diagnosis of problems and resolution for SAP systems
SAP system performance monitoring, alerting (using Solution Manager etc.) and tuning to meet business KPIs
Modification of system level configuration to optimize performance
Working closely with SAP application teams and other Infrastructure teams
Interface with developers and modelers for performance and data access requirements
Development of standards and procedures for the SAP environment
Consultation with infrastructure teams on configuration best practices etc.
Stay current with SAP technology developments and techniques, research new software and tools, proactively recommend improvements
Evaluation and utilization of software products to assist in the management of SAP ecosystem
Working experience in Cloud Technologies (GCP/AWS) and hosting SAP Platform on cloud.
Working experience in Solution Manager configuration – Technical Monitoring, Charm
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred
Excellent understanding of business process and data ow.
Experience with technical support of customers and end users is preferred.
Excellent communication skills are necessary.
Minimum 3 years of experience in SAP Basis with a focus on the customer facing aspects of the solution
