OFFICER STRATA CONTROL – KATHU – NORTHERN CAPE Full Time

Responsibilities 

To make observations and measurements and to collect data
about the rock conditions/rock mechanics of the workplace to
enable interpretation and recommendations to the mining
department, which includes but not limited to:
• Strata control inspection
• Incidents investigation
• Rock engineering input
• Geotechnical data
• Bench stability analysis
• Monitoring
• Limit blast quality assurance / quality control
• Mining control of special areas
• Risk assessments and compliance adherence
• Continuous improvement
• Internal and external stakeholder relationship
• SHERQ adherence and compliance
• Work ethics

QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade 12
• National Certificate (NQF Level 3) – Strata Control Operations (Accredited by Chamber of Mines)
• Blasting Certificate / Rock breaking MQA equivalent qualification (Recommended)
• B.Degree / B Tech Degree (NQF Level 7) (Recommended)

EXPERIENCE
(Essential unless otherwise indicated)
• Minimum of three (3) years Strata Control experience in a mining environment
