Are you an experienced Pastal Accounting bookkeeper with Arch experience seeking a new opportunity? We are searching for a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our Retail Organization. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the financial records, ensuring accuracy, and providing essential support to the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day bookkeeping duties, including maintain and update financial records, including data entry, bank reconciliations, ledgers and journals.
Assist in the Preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Assist in the Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Understanding of managing debtors and creditors.
Verification and supervision of creditors clerks
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Collaborate with other team members and clients to provide financial insights and support.
Maintain organized and secure financial filing systems.
Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Monitoring daily communications and answering any queries
Ensuring payments, amounts and records are correct.
Working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals.
Recording and filing cash transactions.
Controlling credit and chasing debt.
Invoice processing and filing.
Processing expense requests for approval.
Bank reconciliation.
Liaising with third party providers, clients and suppliers.
Updating and maintaining procedural documentation
Knowledge of journal entries (GL Accounts)
Reconciliation of GL Accounts
Preparation of Vat reconciliation and submission
Maintaining and recording of fixed assets
Desired Experience & Qualification
Grade 12
A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in accounting, finance or a related field may be preferred
4-5 years of previous bookkeeping experience
Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite
Pastel Evolution experience preferred
Arch Systems experience beneficial
Ability to quickly learn and utilize industry-specific accounting packages
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask across different types of accounting-related projects
