TEMP PROJECT MANAGER – JOHANNESBURG – SANDTON

The Project Manager Level 2 – Technology, the role is responsible for planning and overseeing the delivery of IT projects to ensure completion in a timely fashion and within budget.

Requirements

Accountable for the following main functional areas:

  1. Determine and define project scope and objectives
  2. Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  3. Prepare a budget based on the scope of work and resource requirements
  4. Track project costs in order to meet budget
  5. Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  6. Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  7. Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverable
  8. Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution
  9. Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  10. Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement

Key Relationships

  1. Partners across Technology functions (e.g., Infrastructure, PMO, Contract Management, Vendor Management, IT Procurement, etc.) and Divisions/Business Units to ensure IT Project Management requirements are met
  2. Partners with Vendors and Service Providers to ensure that company IT Change Enablement requirements are understood, and the relevant processes and controls are developed to provide optimal services
  3. Partner with company Technology to assist with the development and implementation of communication and training

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or a related field
  2. 5-8 years of project management and related experience
  3. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  4. A self-starter requiring minimal management input
  5. Adept at managing, monitoring, and controlling at an aggregate level
  6. Excellent time management abilities
  7. Proficiency in conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques
  8. Strong facilitation, presentation, and negotiation skills
  9. Skilled in Financial Management
  10. Skilled in Risk Management
  11. Skilled in upward communication
